Special Events

The City of Sparks plays host to a variety of outdoor special events, primarily in downtown Victorian Square and the Sparks Marina, from spring through fall. With fundraising walks, concerts, and street festivals–our assortment of events attracts over 1 million attendees.

A Special Event is and event or special circumstance that creates an impact on the venue with one or more of following criteria: more than 250 participants/spectators, requires road closures, includes food trucks or retail vendors. Events that take place on private property should apply for a Temporary Use Permit below.  Please contact the special events office if you are unclear of the definition of your event or party.

In order to complete the online application, you will need a signed Special Event Permit, Alcohol Permit (if needed), a Site Map with event amenities (tents, stages, restrooms, etc.), and Certificate of Insurance. All event producers are required to have a City of Sparks business license. Click the buttons below to access these documents.
