Financial Services

The Financial Services Department is lead by Jeff Cronk, CPA, Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Cronk has twenty-five years of experience as a local government finance professional. He began his employment at the City of Sparks as the Accounting Manager in January 2006 and was subsequently appointed to be the Director of the City's Financial Services Department in January 2010. He currently serves as the City’s Chief Financial Officer since being appointed to that position in April 2019. In addition to his local government experience at the City of Sparks, he has been employed at the Washoe County School District and was an auditor for a variety of governmental agencies in Northern Nevada while earning his professional license. Mr. Cronk also has a broad range of financial management experience outside of the governmental world including manufacturing and not-for-profit industries. He obtained his college education from the University of Nevada, Reno, and is a Certified Public Accountant, holding an active license since 1995, and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Government Finance Officers Association, and the Association of Government Accountants. Mr. Cronk currently serves as a committee member on the State of Nevada Committee on Local Government Finance, appointed to represent the Nevada league of Cities since 2017.
