Sparks Hometowne Christmas Parade

The 2026 Sparks Hometowne Christmas Parade will be celebrating 39 years of tradition on Saturday, December 5. This year’s theme is Home for the Holidays!

Join us in celebrating the spirit, beauty, and traditions of our home state of Nevada! Let’s see how you celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with snowy mountains, rustic ranches, rushing rivers, and desert landscapes. “Home for the Holidays” honors the places and people that make the Silver State feel like home. Through festive floats, hometown traditions, and snowy winter scenes we’ll celebrate why there’s nothing quite like coming home to Nevada for the holidays.

Local businesses present this true community event with thousands of your friends and neighbors participating in the parade with floats, bands, costumes, and entertainment. This event is supported by volunteer groups from Living Stones Church, Hot August Nights, & Boys and Girls Club – they make the magic happen.

The City of Sparks’ Hometowne Christmas parade weekend starts Friday, December 4th with the annual tree lighting ceremony from 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. next to the large gazebo on the corner of Victorian Avenue and Victorian Plaza Circle East with live entertainment and free hot chocolate! Mayor Ed Lawson will flip the switch to light the city’s permanent living Christmas tree, a 60-foot Giant Sequoia.

The parade starts on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. starting at Pyramid, moving down Victorian Ave to Victorian Plaza Circle West. Come down early to get a photo with Santa or hang out afterward and see 39 North Pole with its light displays, food, entertainment, and crafters' village.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4TH
Tree Lighting Ceremony - 6:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Complimentary hot chocolate from Living Stones Church
Live Christmas Music

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5TH
Parade Day Activities: 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Santa Photos at 39 North Pole 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
