Obtain a Copy of a Traffic Accident Report

The Sparks Police Department charges a $5.00 fee for copies of accident reports. This fee is collected on our behalf by our vendor, LexisNexis.

Please note:

  • Commercial users or parties not directly involved in the accident may be charged an additional service fee by LexisNexis.
  • The Sparks Police Department does not charge or collect this service fee — it is applied solely by the vendor.
  • If you are an involved party and were charged more than the $5.00 report fee, please contact LexisNexis directly to request a refund:

If you would like to request a copy through our Public Records Request application, the $5.00 fee still applies. Please note that these requests must be picked up in person at the Sparks Police Department.

If you are unable to locate your report or need additional assistance, please call (775) 353-2279 and press #4 to speak with a Police Office Assistant in our Identification Unit.
