Copies of reports may be obtained through our Identification Unit. Juvenile criminal information is deemed confidential and cannot be released.

Effective July 1, 2026:
As provided in this Sparks Police Department Public Records Request Policy, fees may be charged for providing responses to a public records request. The fee is limited to the actual cost to the agency to provide the copy of the public record, unless a specific statute or regulation sets a fee that the governmental entity must charge for the copy.

When requesting an incident or crime report, please have the following information available:
- Report Number (for example 16-12345)
- Your Name
- Type of Incident (traffic accident, burglary, etc.)
- Involved person’s name(s)
- Date and time of the incident
- Address or location of the incident
