Councilmember Joseph "Joe" Rodriguez 

Joe RodriguezCouncilmember Joe Rodriguez was elected to the Sparks City Council in November 2024. He served on the Washoe County School District Board of Trustees from 2021 through November 2024, representing District C, which includes North Valleys and Spanish Springs communities, Natchez, and Gerlach. 

Councilmember Rodriguez is a Nevada Army National Guard veteran with 11 years of service, including deployments to Afghanistan and Haiti. He holds degrees in criminal justice and fire science. 

Councilmember Rodriguez is a longtime resident of Northern Nevada and enjoys the outdoors, visiting state parks, camping, hunting, and fishing. He has four children, three of whom are students in the Washoe County School District, and has been involved in Boy Scouts and Little League activities as a parent volunteer.

These interconnected principles will guide my decisions and efforts to build a thriving and resilient Sparks for all residents.”
