The Parks & Recreation Commission meets on the fourth Wednesday of each quarter (January, April, July, October)

Time: Meetings take place at 4:00 p.m.

Meeting Place: City Council Legislative Building, 745 4th Street, Sparks.

Purpose: To review the tentative budget of the Parks and Recreation Department, recommend improvements to parks and playgrounds to the City Council, and Aid by recommendation in the implementation of a beneficial parks and recreation program

Governing Authority: Sparks Municipal Code 2.12

Appointing Authority: Mayor with confirmation by the City Council

Number of Appointees: 7 voting members to include 1 member of the Sparks City Council the Parks and Recreation Director serving as an ex officio non voting member.

Qualifications: Must be a resident of the city and if not a resident, own a business in the City and have a valid business license. One of the Mayor's appointments must be a member of the City Council.
