The Building Code Board of Appeals meets as necessary based on when appeals are filed.
Time: All meetings take place at 3:30p.m.
Location: City of Sparks Legislative Building, 745 Fourth Street.
Purpose: To review appeals of decisions by the Sparks Building Official regarding interpretations of the Building Code.
Governing Authority: City of Sparks Resolution No. 2827, Ordinance 2153, SMC 15.105.1
Appointing Authority: City Council makes appointments to the board with the Building Officials recommendations.
Number of Appointees: 5 voting members
Qualifications: Two members must be either a registered professional with architectural experience or a builder or superintendent of building construction with at least ten years’ experience (five of which shall have been in responsible charge of work). One member must be a registered professional with structural and/or civil engineering experience. One member must be a registered professional with mechanical engineering experience of a mechanical/plumbing contractor with at least ten years of experience (five of which shall have been in responsible charge of work). One member must be either a registered professional with electrical engineering experience or an electrical contractor with at least ten years’ experience (five of which shall have been in responsible charge of work).
