Fire Safety Presentations

Fire safety presentations are just one of many ways the Sparks Fire Department educates the community about fire safety and prevention.  Presentations can be conducted at schools, community events, homes, and businesses.

  • Fire safety presentations may include:
  • Fire extinguisher demonstration
  • Home fire escape planning & preparedness
  • Smoke and Carbon Monoxide alarm drills
  • Defensible space
  • Workplace fire safety practices 
  • Age-appropriate fire & life safety skills

Fire Station Tours

Guided fire station tours are available to the community free of charge.  Come view our apparatus and equipment and see where your firefighters write reports, prepare meals, exercise, and rest.  We encourage questions and involvement from all attendees.

Fire station tours last approximately 30-45 minutes and may include:

  • Age-appropriate fire & life safety skills
  • Demonstration of firefighting gear (turnouts)
  • View fire apparatus (fire engine, fire truck, hazmat, rescue) and equipment
  • Tour where firefighters write reports, prepare meals, exercise, and rest

To request a fire station tour, please review the Station Tour Guidelines and complete the Fire Presentation/Station Tour Request Form found to your left.  Please email a completed Fire Station Tour Request Form to sfdoffice@sparksnv.gov. SFD personnel will contact you to discuss your request.

Station Tour Guidelines

Sparks Fire Station 1 (1605 Victorian Ave., Sparks, NV) is open for station tours Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Station tours must be pre-approved. Please note that tours are subject to staff availability and we request at least two weeks’ advance notice to schedule. 

  • 5 years old is the minimum age for fire station tours
  • 30 people is the maximum allowed per tour - this includes adults and children
  • 1 adult per every 10 children is required for supervision during fire station tours

DISCLAIMER: Emergency response is our primary responsibility and crews will remain in service during station tours. In the event of an emergency, firefighters may be delayed or unable to attend without notice. Station tours cancelled due to emergency response will be rescheduled.
